Pottery

Today Jenn McCurry, a potter, came to visit us. She knows all about making pottery! Today was our first day to learn about clay and how to use it to make things. We practiced rolling, pinching, stretching, and creating with the clay. We even learned that we have to scratch and wet the pieces that we want to join together. That was a bit tricky. But everyone managed to use their newly acquired skills to make a bird, eggs, and nest. Today was our learn about and practice day. Tomorrow Mrs. McCurry will return and we will do it again. You can check out her website at mudandstonestudio.com   You will also find her on Instagram at mudandstonestudio

Mrs. Johannson had a real bird's nest to show us....

  1. Great job on the pottery pieces. Do you think you can make those with real mud? It might be fun to try.

    1. Hi ! We think that real mud would not work -- it would just fall apart!! We are going to glaze our pottery next week!
