M - My name is Mrs. Grant....

We read this book, and created our own version of this story!
Here's a couple close-ups...

Thanks to all the families who came out and supported your children at our school's Open House. The boys and girls were looking forwards to bringing their parents to our room. It was great to see the kids showing their families what they have been learning the past three months.

See you Monday.
Reminders:

Party Time!

We opened a new centre today.... and it is called "The Birthday Party Centre". Why? Because everyone loves a party!!  Mrs. Mitchell (Speech Language Pathologist) and our two Educational Assistants helped us go through the various parts of the centre. The activities included: celebrating at the party, making the invitations and/or birthday cards, making a cake (using play-doh and our imaginations), and  icing a real cupcake and eating it!!! Everyone rotated through all the activities. We practiced using our "birthday party" language, words, manners, etc. It was lots of fun! We had to use our imaginations to pretend it was a real birthday!
Come check it out at the Open House tomorrow.

OPEN HOUSE

Dear Parents,

This Thursday, from 4:30 - 7:00PM, there will be an Open House at Stevenson School. This will be an opportunity for your children to show you what they have been up to since school started. These are called Student-Led Conferences, as you will come to our class with your child, and he/she will share some of the exciting things that have been happening in Kindergarten.  No need to schedule an appointment, just arrive anytime between 4:30 and 6:45 (this will allow time before the 7PM closing time) to come visit our classroom. I will also be available to chat with you at this time.

If you should wish to have a private meeting with me, we can schedule an appointment for Friday morning.

Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday of this week.

Hope to see you all Thursday!!!
Mrs. Grant

Label, label, label!!!

Dear Parents..... Please label your child's clothes. We had several mix ups and tears  today. We have more than one pair of black ski pants in our room and several pairs of boots that look the same.... and some kids don't know what belongs to them - especially since this is the first day that many clothing items have been worn. Mittens get dropped in the hallway, and the best way to identify any lost items is if there is a name on it. So Please take a few moments to label your child's outerwear, including boots, and also show your child where his/her name or initials can be found.
******THANK YOU!!.... from Mrs. Grant and 24 Kindergarten kids

Today was Friday.... so that means it was "Friday Fun Day" in the Gym!! I stopped by the gym to take a few photos of what some kids were up to during gym class.
