Last Day of Kindergarten

Hard to believe, but today was the last day of Kindergarten!!  Seems like it was just a few days ago, that these little kids walked into Room 7. Now they are leaving as BIG kids!!  They have been like little sponges, who "soaked" up so much information!!  What a terrific year of learning we had!

Thanks to all the parents for your support. I hope you have enjoyed checking in on the blog throughout the year.

Wishing all families a wonderful and fun summer!!
I will see you around, in the hallways at Stevenson, next fall.

Happy Summer!!!

lovely notes

These boys created their own game of snakes and ladders, which included bombs and dinosaurs!!

Room 7 kids had music class today. Ms. Rempel ended the class by singing an action song with them when they got back to our room!

I love teaching Kindergarten!!  Look at some of the nice notes I have got this week! (For those of you who are not sure what some words may say, --- when you read- think and speak like a Kinder kid!)

There is a year end celebration tomorrow at 10:00AM in the gym. All families are welcome to join us.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL IS TOMORROW!!!
Then.... Grade One, here they come!

stuffies and popsicles

This afternoon we went outside for a little treat -- a popsicle! We also had 2 fire drills this afternoon.

Mrs. Ross, one of the lunch time supervisors, brought a surprise for each of the kids. Her 11 year old grand-daughter has a huge collection of stuffies and she wanted to gift some of them to the boys and girls. So each person got to choose one of the stuffies to take home and keep!

Any work that your child is bringing home should be taken out of their backpack and kept at home. No need to return any work, it is yours to keep!  Check it out and see the growth of your child throughout the year!
Please do return the RED FOLDER everyday.

3 more days!!

ZOO

Everyone had lots of fun at the zoo, despite the light drizzle that happened most of the day.
Thank you very much to the parents who helped us out today.
I'm sure all the children would love to tell their parents about their day. Be sure to ask them!

We enjoyed watching the polar bears swim and play in the water. The kids thought it was pretty great to see them up close!
We had a visit from the PAPERBAG PRINCESS at the end of the day, (from the Robert Munsch story). Princess Elizabeth stopped by to see us and read us the story that was written about her.

Sharing time... Thanks to all the parents who supported Sharing Time this year and helped your child choose something appropriate to bring each week. The kids have become more confident speakers, and learned how to be a polite audience when other people are speaking. The growth has been so tremendous this year!

ONLY 4 more days of school. Last school day is June 29th.
Enjoy your weekend!

Cultural Day

Everyone enjoyed Stevenson's Cultural Day!!  There were a variety of games, dances, activities -- representing a variety of different countries and cultures -- for the students to check out today.
Thank you very much to the families who contributed food to our cultural lunch. Everyone enjoyed sampling some new foods!
Parents, ask your child to tell you about some of the cultural activities. What was your child's favourite thing to do today?
