M is for Mitten

Our theme for this month is winter. We have read several books about mittens this week. Jan Brett is one of our favourite authors. We have read "The Mitten", "The Hat", and "The Three Snow Bears" all by Jan Brett . Today we tried using our bodies to make a letter /M/.
We read a little book called "The mitten" and searched for some common sight words in the book. Ask your child to read this book to you at home.
Some of us played a mitten matching game... where we had to count the number of dots on the mitten and then match it with the corresponding numeral.
This morning, our school had "House Groups". (All students in the whole school have been mixed up into multi-age groupings. These groups stay the same all year, and meet together every few weeks for about half an hour.) Today we had a focus on card games during "House Groups". Ask your child to teach you the card game he/she learned this morning during House Groups.

Sharing Time.....
