3 Billy Goats Gruff

A day of different bridges………

Today we made a little bridge with some blocks and paper. We wanted to see how strong the bridge was and how many pennies it could hold. Our experiment showed that a flat piece of paper was not very strong at all. Our bridge sunk down!  BUT...when we folded the paper got very strong! We counted 100 pennies..and it was still so strong! No sign of sinking down! Folded paper really was stronger than just plain paper! (We also checked out some cardboard and noticed the folds inside the layers of cardboard!)

Next we read a story about another bridge --- that had a TROLL living under it!  We read the "Three Billy Goats Gruff"…. and then acted out our own version of the tale.  As one student said …"That was awesome!"
