Emotions and Empathy

We had a "Roots of Empathy" lesson today. We talked more about emotions. We brainstormed different kinds of emotions and circumstances that might lead to these different emotions. Mrs. Macdonell talked to the students about understanding their own emotions, as well as those of other people. We can "read" peoples' body language and facial expressions to help us understand how they are feeling.
We want to learn different strategies to deal with emotions positively and what we can do to help others when they feel sad, angry/mad, or scared.  This is called "empathy".

                   Check out our snowman faces!

These girls said they "worked together" to create this structure today!
(Isn't that great to see teamwork?)

  2. HI. Thank you for the comment. We are wondering if you have any snow in Texas? We got to go outside and play at recess today. It wasn't too cold to play outside! Have a good weekend,
