Public Library

We went for a walk to visit the Public Library this afternoon. Along the way, to and from the library, we..... read some house numbers, read street signs in our neighbourhood, walked by some of the homes of people in our class, stopped and talked about some of the businesses/places in our community (ie. Pizza place, Optometrist, bank, grocery story, middle school, high school, etc.). We worked in some Social Studies, Math, Literacy, and personal safety on our walk!!! The kinder kids/teachers from Room 6 joined us on our walk!

Once we got to the library, we were kept busy again!!  Story time, puppet show, scavenger hunt, looking at books, colouring, and signing out books for those who got or brought their library card. We were also informed about a summer reading program that starts next week. Be sure to stop by the library for the package. IT's FREE!
Thank you to the librarians for a great visit to our local public library.
** For anyone who brought home 2 library books, please be sure to return them to any Wpg. Public Library within 3 weeks.

Morning activities included.... matching the lower case and uppercase letters on the dinosaurs!!

This person was so motivated to write numbers up to 100 on the white board this morning!! And she did it!

Richelle Scott, Indigenous Educator, was at our school today. She taught all the classes the "Buffalo Song" in a native language.

Sharing Time!
