How many days of school?

As part of our daily carpet time routine, we have been keeping track of how many days we have been to school. Every day we add a popsicle stick to the container and then count how many sticks there are inside the container. We were getting quite a few, so we decided to bundle up some into groups of ten. So far we have 2 groups of ten, and 3 extra.
So now we count them like this now... "10, 20, 21, 22, 23!"  It is much quicker to count them now! We also have fun using our "popcorn popping fingers" to count by tens!
Parents: Have your child practice counting to 23 (by ones), or practice counting higher if they need a bigger challenge!

  1. It's interesting to hear what kind of counting you're doing! We'll try at home. I hope everyone has a great long weekend. -H's mom
