Primary and Secondary Colours

Part of our Science curriculum is about colours. We learned about primary and secondary colours today. We read this book, and then practiced mixing some of the primary colours. For example, we learned that red and blue makes purple, and red and yellow make orange.

One of Mrs. Grant's former students stopped by and read us a story about colours. She is in Grade 9 now!

Some sentences from Pete the Cat were mixed up. We didn't think they made any sense, and the kids were quickly able to put them in the correct order to make a sentence with 5 words!

This job was about rolling the die, and then printing the colour word that matched the number on the die!

REMINDER:   All Stevenson Families are invited to come to the library from 5:30 - 6:30 PM tomorrow for the Family Read-In.  Read books with your family, and see who the mystery guest reader is. You won't want to miss it!

  1. Mrs. Grant, did you recognize your former student? That is fantastic that she came back to her kindergarten classroom to read. It shows that she really enjoyed being in Mrs. Grant's class. Enjoying your blog in Texas.

  2. Hi. Yes, I did recognize her - but only because I saw her at a choir concert -- or else I wouldn't have known her! She looks different from when she left our school in Grade 5!
We did lots of mixing colours today. It was fun!
