Reading Train

All the Kinders went to Rom 6 today to watch a short Letter Factory video about building words!

Look who dressed up as characters from books!
 
We ended the day in the gym.... on the "Reading Train". We partnered up with Room 4 (Grade 3/4/5 class) and pretended we were sitting on a train. Every time the train whistle blew, we got a new partner!

More colours!

Lots of fun mixing colours to create new colours!  Vocabulary we are learning includes:  "Primary colours" and "Secondary colours".

Primary and Secondary Colours

 
Part of our Science curriculum is about colours. We learned about primary and secondary colours today. We read this book, and then practiced mixing some of the primary colours. For example, we learned that red and blue makes purple, and red and yellow make orange. 
 
  

One of Mrs. Grant's former students stopped by and read us a story about colours. She is in Grade 9 now!
 
Some sentences from Pete the Cat were mixed up. We didn't think they made any sense, and the kids were quickly able to put them in the correct order to make a sentence with 5 words!


   
This job was about rolling the die, and then printing the colour word that matched the number on the die!

Matching the numbers on the 100 chart!

    Mrs. Lowe (K Resource) did a lesson from the "We Thinkers" program. We talked about creating a group plan -- and then working together to make sure everyone helped with the plan. One of the activities was to work together to pass around the egg (or ball) and get it from one friend to the next without dropping it, etc.
