Walk to School Day and Drumming!
Everyone was encouraged to walk to school today (and whenever possible). School Staff met families a few blocks away from the school, and we all walked to school together! Once we arrived at the school, we sang O'Canada outside, listened to the daily announcements, and then headed inside! A great big thank you to all the parents who brought their kids to the football field to meet us there and to those who joined our walk, too!!
As part of "The Integrated Arts" program, we have a special visitor at our school this month. His name is Chris. He is teaching us about drumming. We all got a chance to try out various kinds of drums today. He had a drum that looked like a pot (and was a pot!).... and it made an interesting sound - particularly when he put a little bit of water in it ! Try it at home!
We practiced using the blocks today to make patterns!
Sharing Time...
