turkey activities

Pattern blocks.... T is for Turkey!

We were working on an activity today that involved a die, a bingo dabber, and numbers 1-6 on a turkey! (not a real turkey, just a picture of one!)  The student had to roll the die, identify the number of dots, and then find that number on the turkey and bingo dab it!  Some kids were able to immediately know how many dots were on the die (that is called "subitizing"), and some kids had to count the dots on the die. (The Kindergarten goal is to be able to quickly identify how many dots are on a die - without having to count them.) Kids had to practice counting as high as 6, and recognizing numbers from 1 to 6.

Everyone didn't get a turn yet, so we will continue with this "job" tomorrow.

Ms. Rempel was teaching the class a song about a turkey today during Music Class. Ask your child to teach it to you!

Sharing time today... something "red"
