Weekend News

We are learning to 'Subitize"!  (this means we see the number of dots on the die, and identify "how many?" without having to actually count the dots!) We have to roll the red die on the smart board, to match the number on the smaller blue die at the bottom of the page. A lot of board games/card games for children teach this concept, and kids learn how to do this while having fun at home. Do you have any games that teach this at home?
 
We practiced making a AB pattern on the Smart Board today!
 
Every Monday at school, we talk about what we did on the weekend. This is a good opportunity for kids to speak about something that they know about, as they practice their language skills & public speaking skills. They are also learning to be polite listeners, as they wait for their turns, and do not interrupt others. On Sunday evening, please have a chat with your child about your weekend, so he/she will have something to share about his/her WEEKEND NEWS!
