Name Art

We are learning about the letters in our names!! We are becoming more aware of the shape of the letters -- are there straight lines or curved lines?  and what is the order of the letters to spell our names? How many letters are in our name? and how many parts (syllables) are in our name? We practice clapping and touching our head/shoulder/waist to count the parts in our name!  (we also create rhyming words with our names, by changing the first sound in the name).
We practiced using our fine motor skills by ripping construction paper into little pieces and gluing them onto the outline of our names!!

We rolled a die, then had to find that many balls on the Rekenrek. We also used the iPads to count sets of numbers up to ten. We used an app called....."Number Rack".... which had something similar to the Rekenrek in our classroom.

Using various shaped pattern blocks to form letters

We traced our forearm and fingers to make a tree trunk with branches. Then we painted the trunk and branches brown. After that dried, we used fall colours to paint leaves on the tree.
