Jingle bells

We have been experimenting with the hand bellls, and played a Christmas song, too! Check out our version of Jingle Bells that we did last week!

We learned about the "12 Days of Christmas Song", and decided to make a kids' version!

This year we couldn't hold a Winter Concert, so Ms. Rempel has been working hard at putting together a virtual winter concert for you to enjoy. Here is a little clip.... the link for the whole concert is being emailed out to parents.

Library Day today!  Everybody had returned their last library book, so EVERYONE got to choose a new book!  YAY!!!  Books are due by next Day 6

We have read a lot of different versions of the gingerbread man. Today we did a cute online gingerbread activity.  You can find it at Starfall (click here) 

Today we made a birthday book for the last person in our class who turned 5 years old today!!  Starting in January, our future birthday books will be for our friends who will be turning 6 years old in the new year!

A new school calendar is coming home today. Please recycle any previous school calendars, and refer to the new one being sent home today.

Drum

Counting to 10 and moving beads with one-to-one correspondence!

The boys and girls are becoming familiar with a lot of sight words. They love to practice reading AND writing them!

..decorating stockings.... (using the little muscles in our fingers to move the beads and jewels onto the stocking, and being creative with our designs!)..

MUSIC TIME...Ms. Rempel said everyone had fun opening up a music present today.... it was a drum!! Everyone got to try it and the students danced to each other's drumming song!  

We have also been using some instruments in our classroom... stay tuned for our performance next week!

Check out our playground!!  No snow... some icy spots, but pretty bare!   Wonder if we will have a white Christmas!

Today we said Good-bye to Mrs. Peterson. She has been the Educational Assistant in our room for the past couple months or so. On Monday, we will welcome back Mrs. Pankhurst, who will return as the Educational Assistant in our class.
