Outdoor painting/drawing

We went outside to do some painting today. We used the fence for our easels.

We also used sidewalk chalk..for a variety of things!!
This little girl drew a cat and wrote "the end of the cat"

Some kids made a path -- we called them our dinosaur trails -- and wrote START and END.....and then the kids used their gross motor skills to follow the path- including a few jumping circles along the way!

We had some hopscotch artists too... and they didn't stop printing numbers at 10.....

We also did story time outside in the teepee today.

Our class received a card in the mail today!!  It is a congratulation card for finishing Kindergarten, and going on to Grade One!  It came all the way from TEXAS!  Thank you very much to my Auntie Connie in Texas. She reads our blog every day, and leaves us comments every once in a while. We have really appreciated that, as the kids look forward to responding to comments on the blog! It gives us another opportunity to use our literacy skills (reading the comment and writing a response together, letter/sound associations), and social skills (using greetings, responding to compliments, etc.). Thank you so much to everyone else who has left us a comment, too!

  1. I'm so glad you got the card and enjoyed it.
The dinosaur trails is a great idea. That was a long hopscotch. Were you tired when you finished hopping? That girl did amazing work on the cat.
I treasured all your blogs this year. Mrs. Grant's auntie in Texas

    1. Hi. Thank you VERY MUCH for the great card! That was a nice idea! We LOVED it! We had fun playing with chalk outside. The long hopscotch game DID make that boy tired! You were right! Thank you for liking the cat picture (said the artist!)
      Have a good day!
