Go Fish
We are learning how to play "GO FISH". We have to learn........ to match numbers, how to ask a question, how to co-operate, how to win/lose graciously, etc. We would love to play at home with our families, too!
REMINDER: TOMORROW, Tuesday , Oct. 8th is the Parent Council Meeting. We would love to see you all there to support a parent council and the wonderful things they do for our school and students. If there is not enough support, there may not be a Parent Council this school year. Please plan on attending! Thank you.

Apple Star
| Today we listened to a story about the apple star. The apple seeds can be found inside this star. Then we cut open an apple and checked out the star!!! We think that is pretty cool! |
We used fruit manipulatives to make patterns! Check these out!

They will be visiting us every month. We will also meet with Mrs. Macdonell before and after the visit from Jacob. Today we guessed what we thought maybe baby Jacob can do. We don't know for sure, but we will ask his mom next week. We also guessed if we thought baby Jacob would be the same size as the doll, or smaller than, or bigger than the doll. During a Roots of Empathy lesson, we sit around a green blanket. This is where baby Jacob will go when he visits us. We are SO excited to meet him next week.

Apples
Did you know there are a LOT of different kinds of apples? We noticed there are apples with different colours, shapes, and sizes..... and different tastes. Today we tasted 8 different kinds of apples. We liked all of them, although a few people thought there were a couple that tasted a little sour to them. Here's a few pictures of some of the kinds we sampled.....

Wacky Science
This morning we had a school wide assembly, with a special guest. Ryan Price and his Wacky Science Show entertained, amazed, and taught us a few things about science. Some comments from our class included....
- I liked when he put something in the tube and it puffed up and spilled out - and made something like toothpaste.
- I liked when the balloon fell in the tube.
- I liked when those kids were cutting the paper.
- I liked how one little boy lifted up 2 big kids.
- I liked when he drew a circle on the paper, and then a real bowling ball came out of the book!

| We started our Sharing Time today. This group of students brought in something that was RED to show and tell us all about. We are working on our oral language skills, as well as our listening skills! |
