Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from everyone in Room 7!!

Everyone made a card to take home. They are so cute, you might even want to put them in a frame and keep it as a Christmas decoration for years to come!

We also used our handprint to make a special decoration for your tree! As the years pass by, it will be a memory of little hands.....

These kids all wore their pyjamas today!

Sharing time... something that starts with /s/... We had 4 people share today...here are 3 of them.....
 
... and here is the fourth person. He shared his brother "Sebastian"!

"Run, Run, as fast as you can..."

This morning we decorated gingerbread men!
                   
Ta da!!  This is how they looked when we were all done! We were so excited to eat them after recess.... but...

...when we came in from recess... they were GONE!!!  We think they ran away, just like in all the stories we have read about gingerbread men!. BUT... they did leave us a clue. The clue took us to the LIBRARY..

...then we found another clue that took us to the office ..
 
...then we found another clue that took us into the principal's office....

...and the clue we found there led us to the lunchroom...
 
... and the clue there led us back to Room 7!!  We were so excited to find our gingerbread men there!!  So we ate them!  They were yummy!

Wednesday news

On Wednesday, we learned the story of "The Twelve Days of Christmas". We read the traditional story, then an updated version called "A Porcupine in a Pine Tree." We then did a "toy" version, with a pocket chart activity. We also did a stamping activity, and used a variety of stamps to correspond with the numbers 1 -12 and make our own story.
 

mini-lites and free books!

We used these S-A-N-T-A letter cards to help us sing a song. First we had to get ourselves in order to spell a special word!

We used thumb tacks to poke holes in an outline of a tree. (The tacks encouraged us to use 2 fingers to hold it, just like we do with our pencils.) When you hold the paper up to the light or against a window, it looks like mini-lights on the tree!
      

 

Everyone got to pick out a present today--- 4 brand new books! Please refer to the note that came home today for more information about this!

The kids are excited to wear their new pyjamas to school.... SO..... we will have a pyjama day on Friday. Students are welcome to wear clean pyjamas to school on Friday!
