Gym, scissors, and fingers!

  

Today was our first gym class with Mrs. Havixbeck. Here we are learning which teams we will be in for gym. We have a couple gym classes with the other Kindergarten class. Gym will be every Day 1,2,3,4. We will also be taking a dance class as part of one of our gym classes.

Today was our fist day learning how to use scissors and glue. Encourage your child to practice using them at home. Everyone who attended the "Welcome To Kindergarten" evening in the spring received glue and scissors. Give your child a grocery flyer, and have them help cut out pictures to make your shopping list. (Reminder: when using scissors, thumb up, and elbow tucked in) 

We learned a new song about getting ready for school, and did a cut and paste about this, too! 

 

• We talked about the water fountain, and how we want our mouth to touch the water only, NOT the silver part where the water comes out. Please chat with your child at home to reinforce how to drink safely from the fountain.
• We also talked about our eyes, ears, mouth, and nose --- with regards to that our fingers DO NOT go inside any of these. We have lots of kleenex placed around the classroom, if someone needs to use them. We don't want germs being spread around on our supplies and toys. 

 

 

 Sharing Time.... "All About Me" bags.  So far everyone who has shared their bags this week has been excited to share what is in their bags! Everyone has had something to say!!  Good start to public speaking skills!  We have a few more bags to share in the next couple days.

 

REMINDER to everyone    On the first couple days of meetings, I asked parents who would be picking up their child at the end of the day. If this changes at any time, please send a note in the red communication folders or call the school to let us know. We want to keep everyone safe and going home with whom we have been instructed to send them home with. Thanks!
