This morning we had an assembly to remind everyone that KINDNESS MATTERS !
Our school is participating in Kids For Peace "The Great Kindness Challenge" (Click on the link for more information.) The Great Kindness Challenge is one school week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible, choosing from a checklist of 50 suggestions. Students are bringing home the checklist of suggested challenges from this site... and feel free to think of your own ideas about kindness.
Crazy hair and/or crazy clothes for "Crazy for Kindness"
Tomorrow we are celebrating TEAM KINDNESS. Everyone is encourage to wear anything associated with a sport/being on a team!
What do you wear in the winter? This is what kids from Room 7 had to say about that....
Today we read and discussed this story "Don't Laugh at Me" by Steve Seskin & Allen Shamblin. It has a very powerful lesson about being tolerant of others and treating others with respect... no matter how different they might be from you. Bullying others is not acceptable, and there is no need to laugh at others or call them names! A very good book for families to read together and discuss.
We brainstormed what we know about Kind Kids. We will add to it as we come up with new ideas.
