This week we made a special Valentine surprise for our families.

We did a LOT of activities about the number 100 this morning!
We started off the day with a number treasure hunt! We had to find the numbers 1 to 100 that were "hiding" around our room! We found them all except for the number 63!
We figured out how many people we would need to get 100 fingers!
We counted by tens doing a dot-to-dot on the Smart Board
We made a train of 100 blocks!
We used 100 plastic cups to build towers with!
We put the numbers from 1-100 in order on this Smart Board game.

We predicted whether our heart shaped suckers would be gone after 100 licks.... and they were NOT!
We stamped ten sets of stamps/Bingo dabbers on ten strips of paper to make a 100 day crown! We are 100 days smarter!

Other 100 day things we did today.....
- we were quiet for 100 seconds! (believe it or not!)
- got to the number 100 on our daily "How many days of school" chart
- counted 100 popsicle sticks.. bundled into groups of 10.... and now we have one big bundle of 100
- jumped up and down 100 times.... and after each set of 10 we put a marker on our 10 frame
- watched 100 day videos
- read 100 day books
- sang 100 day songs
- counted to 100 by ones and by tens
We ended the day with a game of musical chairs!
Thank you to Alessandra, Nahom, Chase, and Bella (and their families!) for bringing treats to our Valentine's party. (Two of these kids were sick at home today, and their parents still managed to bring in treats for our party!) Everyone enjoyed all the treats. Thanks!
- Tomorrow is an inservice day. No school for kids. Teachers will be working on Report Cards.
- Monday, Feb. 18th is the Provincial Family Day - Louis Riel Day - so no school on Monday.
See you Tuesday!
