Day 2

We started off our day with a school wide assembly in the gym. We sang O'Canada here too!

We also read a special birthday book today, and made our own birthday book for one of our classmates who celebrated her birthday on Sept, 5th. We talked about how to hold a crayon, practiced  printing our own name and the birthday girl's name, and sang Happy Birthday, too!  At the end of the day, we read our special home made birthday book to her... and she used her manners to say "Thank-you" to each and every person as we read the pages. The others used their manners, too, to respond with a "You're Welcome!".

1st Day of Kindergarten!

Welcome to Kindergarten!! Today was the first day of school for this school year!  We had a few tears  from a few kids first thing this morning, but then everyone settled in and we got on with our day! We currently have 24 students in our class.
    Some of the things we did today include....... we looked at books, played at centres, cleaned up after centres, learned about "Check 5", played outside at recess, enjoyed snack times and lunch time, listened to stories (we really enjoyed the pop-up Peek-a-Boo book and lift the flap book), sang some songs (Dr. Knickerbocker was a funny song!), and started learning about how to line up!  The day just flew by!!! These kids were happy to share their special items today.  They all did a great job talking to their new classmates, and telling them about what they had brought to school to "show and tell".
  
NOTE: 

• Don't forget to include a couple snacks for your child every day.
• Please put your child's name on the outside of his/her lunch kit.
• Put your child's name or initials on ALL lunch containers and thermos/water bottles.
• If you haven't sent in the 2 boxes of kleenex, 2 ziplock bags, and extra set of clothes, --- please do so on Monday.
• If you have not yet paid the school fees, please go online and do so. Thanks!
